The Side Hat is an optional item for RLC officers and may be worn in No. 1 & 2 (Non Ceremonial), 4 (Non Ceremonial), 7, 8-PCS (at Phase 1 Training Establishments only), 10, 11, 13 (Barrack Dress) and 14 dress (Barrack Dress shirt sleeve order). Female officers do not wear the side cap in No. 10 and 11 dress. The side hat is not to be worn by soldiers.
